Our radiologists specializing in breast imaging have reviewed the data and new recommendations from the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force concerning annual screening mammography for women over 40.

We at Portland Medical Imaging will continue to follow the recommendations set forth by the American Cancer Society and the American College of Radiology that states the use of annual screening mammography and clinical breast examination for all women begin at age 40. Mammography continues to be a powerful tool in identifying the presence of breast cancer early. Breast cancer is 97% treatable if found early.
